Hoodia Patch
Hoodia is a plant, and in order to make the plant ready to be used by the masses the plant must be extracted somehow. Manufacturers either grind the plant into a powder or they make an attempt to concentrate the P57 with the use of alcohol. The marketable product is sold in forms of a pill, a liquid, and now even a patch.
The patch is a new Hoodia diet product that was just recently released. It is a transdermal patch meaning that the Hoodia is absorbed through the skin. These patches work in the same manner as a nicotine patch that is used to help calm the cravings of nicotine. Hoodia patches are meant to calm cravings for food.
The overall goal of any Hoodia based product is to make it work as though one was consuming the natural plant itself. Hoodia is a naturally wild plant that is considered a succulent or much like a prickly pear. Hoodia only grows in the dry regions of South Africa, and by no means is it practical for the common person to make a trek to this region for this one of a kind plant. A reporter for CBS did make the trip to South Africa to try this plant, and she reported that after trying the plant that she felt full for a period of about 24 hours. This report set off a production frenzy and led to the making of Hoodia pills, liquids, and patches.
One of the preferred ways of consuming Hoodia is through the use of the patch. People tend to like this method because they can simply apply the patch to their arm in the morning and throughout the day let the P57 release itself into the bloodstream and let it help to suppress their appetite. Their have been some complaints about using the patch though. Many users have complained of minor irritations and itching in the area where they applied the patch. Also, if the patch comes off or falls off during the course of the day it must be replaced with another. This poses a problem for people who wear one when they are sweating. This can significantly increase the cost to losing weight.
One Hoodia patch should be used in a 24 hour period. The user should replace their patch everyday. If the reason you choose to use the patch is because you feel that you will forget to ingest a supplement, this still may not offer a solution as you may forget to replace the patch or put one on everyday. But, Hoodia patches do offer a great solution for those who do not have a routine day, as they do not have to plan in advance when to take a pill or use the liquid form before eating.
All of the same things that apply to using the patch apply to taking a Hoodia pill. Dehydration can occur when taking a Hoodia supplement so it is important to remember to drink plenty of fluids. As of yet there are no known side effects to using Hoodia supplements.
It is advised that you only use Hoodia supplements if you are healthy. Any Hoodia product can work for you but it is wise to consult a physician before beginning any weight loss program. As with any diet it is recommended that you reduce your calorie intake over a period of time, drink plenty of water, exercise regularly, and take a vitamin supplement.
When selecting a weight loss program that is right for you it is a good idea to study up on different programs and to meet with your doctor to find out which program is right for you. Hoodia is a natural product and will probably be a better product to use when selecting an appetite suppressant. There are many positives and negatives when choosing a diet plan, be sure to choose one that is right for you.
